Passenger Information

Aeropelican operates through Terminal 2 at Sydney 's Domestic Airport (former Ansett Terminal) and has it's own dedicated Check-in Counters and Departure Lounge.

Check-in

Photo Identification

All passengers travelling on Aeropelican Air Services are required to present photo identification upon check-in. The following forms of photo identification are accepted by Aeropelican, provided they are current (not expired):

• Passport;
• Drivers Licence;
• Company issued identification or student ID;
• Aviation Security Identification Card

If photo identification is not available, then 2 alternate forms of identification are required. They can include current (not expired):

• Original or certified copy of birth certificate or citizenship document;
• Medicare Card;
• Credit Cards

Passengers travelling with children and infants must present a Medicare card with the children’s/infants names and/or an original or certified copy of their birth certificate.

Minimum Connection Times

The following are the recommended minimum connection times where transferring to/from other services with Aeropelican:

Aeropelican to/from all Domestic Flights (including Qantas, Jetstar, Virgin and Rex)            1 hour minimum

Aeropelican to/from all International flights                                                                        3 hours minimum

Check-in Time

Passengers travelling are reminded that it is necessary to check in at least 45 minutes prior to scheduled departure time to avoid the possibility of reservations being cancelled or re-allocated.

Due to increased security and baggage screening procedures introduced by Sydney Airport Corporation, Aeropelican advises passengers that passenger check-in times at

Sydney Airport will change effective 13th November 2006.

Aeropelican will use every effort to carry your baggage reasonably in accordance with the dates and times of the flight specified.  However, Aeropelican accepts no responsibility for baggage which is captured by Sydney Airport Corporations baggage screening process and cannot be held liable for charges relating to the delivery of the baggage.

Baggage

All passengers occupying a seat are entitled to one 17kg item of baggage free of charge. Excess baggage will be charged at a normal rate, but carriage on the same flight cannot be guaranteed. International passengers are entitled to 20kg maximum. Due to aircraft baggage hold limitations, unusual baggage items exceeding 1.97 metres in length will not be carried.

Limitations of 14kg per person may apply if weather restrictions apply.

A hand luggage limit of maximum 4kg applies to each person with. Size limits apply.

Excess Baggage

Passengers traveling on Aeropelican flights who have excess baggage, exceeding the free baggage allowance of 17kg per person will be charged an excess.

Excess Baggage Rates are as follows:

1kg – 10kg above free allowance = $10
11kg - 15kg above free allowance = $20
16kg - 20kg above free allowance = $50
21kg - 25kg above free allowance = $80
26kg - 30kg above free allowance = $120
Effective 1 September 2006

Baggage weighing more than 30kg above the free baggage allowance will be charged the 26-30kg excess baggage charge PLUS $5 for every kg over 30Kg.

Paying excess baggage charges does not guarantee uplift of excess baggage.

Excess baggage charges are payable at Check-in, prior to departure. We accept cash, Eftpos or credit card for these payments.

Unaccompanied Children

Aeropelican requires that passengers are able to travel independently and assume responsibility for themselves. Aeropelican does not have the staff or facilities required to assist children who require assistance, supervision or transfers to other airlines.

Children 12 years and under will not be accepted for travel as unaccompanied minors on Aeropelican Air Services flights. Children must be accompanied by an appropriate fare paying adult passenger who will provide the appropriate assistance and supervision.

Ground Transport

Taxis and hire cars are available at Newcastle Airport (Williamtown) and Sydney Airport.

Schedule Changes

The company accepts no responsibility to advise schedule changes, except to passengers whose bookings have been confirmed by reservations and keep the Company advised of an effective contact address. This also applies to minor changes of departure times to meet traffic or operational requirements.

Missed Connections

Aeropelican does not accept any financial responsibility for missed connections, but does everything reasonably possible to assist passengers so affected to complete their journey with minimum delay.
