Aeropelican publishes a new schedule for its Sydney – Newcastle air service

Aeropelican Air Services is delighted to announce a schedule implementation for the Sydney -Newcastle (Williamtown) service.

These new flight times offer similar frequency Monday to Friday with five daily return flights. A northbound Sydney – Newcastle flight (OT5007) has been introduced to answer a strong demand from Sydney traffic to maximise working hours in Newcastle.

The schedule is effective from Monday 30th August and is available on all Global Distribution Systems as well as Aeropelican’s website http://www.aeropelican.com.au over here.

Aeropelican Air Services is a Qantas Frequent Flyer Airline affiliate and offers check-through baggage service on all Qantas domestic flights.

Aeropelican publishes an all year around schedule for its Sydney – Snowy Mountains air service

Aeropelican Air Services is delighted to announce the schedule of its all year around service from Sydney to the Snowy Mountains (Cooma).

Since the beginning of the operation in June 2010 both local communities and the tourism industry have shown encouraging support to the air service. “Over the first nine weeks of operation we have seen solid patronage from the local business community, especially Monday to Friday, which is a positive indicator of the level of support we can expect for an all year round service” said Fabrice Binet, Aeropelican Route Development Manager.

“Recent visits to government departments, tourism operators and major business entities have highlighted the need for an all year round air service for business travel to Sydney as well as facilitating the return of health specialists in the Valley” said Mr Binet.

Richard Phillips, Sales and Marketing Manager for Thredbo commented “It's great news all round, it certainly opens up great opportunities in the conference and meeting market, as the Snowies are even more accessible enabling us to compete on an even playing field with other destination venues. It opens up the High Country in summer to a wider audience which will hopefully translate into increased visitation to the region as a whole”.

Aeropelican Air Services will work closely with tourism operators to make the air service a key element of the development of the summer tourism in the Snowy Mountains.

Flights will operate six days a week Monday to Friday and Sunday from Sydney Airport Terminal 2:

Sydney to Snowy Mountains: 13:10 – 14:20

Snowy Mountains to Sydney: 14:50 – 16:00

Mudgee Fine Foods 2010

Mudgee throws down a gourmet gauntlet (to the rest of Australia).

The call has gone out across the Ranges. Mudgee is challenging the nation's quality food producers, large and small, to benchmark their fine food products against the best of the Central West.

With a gold medal line up of judges including some of Australia's most influential foodies, the 2010 Mudgee Fine Food Awards should reinforce the notion that this beautiful area, only three and a half hours from Sydney, is home to some of the State's best food and wine.

Valli Little, Suzanne Gibbs, Rob Ingram and Sue Fairlie-Cuninghame join the judging panel this year along with local foodies Peter Davis of Newtown Providors, and local chef-caterer, Rebecca Sutton, for the judging on 23-24 August. Awards will be announced at the Awards Presentation Lunch on 5 September.

Now in its fourth year and coinciding with the September Wine Festival, the prestigious Mudgee Fine Food Awards are cooking up a storm with 33 categories to enter. This year, in collaboration with the Olive Growers of Mudgee, there will be 7 classes for olives and olive products to add to the expanding list of jams, pickles, sauces, nuts, confectionery, biscuits and smoked meats and fish. The most innovative marketers will also be awarded.
